GAME DESCRIPTION
[center]Events Darkest of Days begins with the player moves through time in the past and has witnessed the events that led to his own horrible death. In the role of a secret agent of the main character will have quite a lot of traveling in time, you will witness the most famous battles in world history, but eventually you have to save all mankind, taking part in the grand battle between good and evil. Mark and Russ have both said a bunch of times that there should be a game in which you travel through time participating in the greatest battles in history using futuristic weapons to blast away primitive screw-heads.
Well it looks like the idea may finally be coming to fruition with Darkest of Days.
Not only will you get to jump from war to war waxing Johnny Reb and Jerry alike, but you also get to take part in battles in locations that you might not usually get to see in other games, like Pompeii in 74 CE. (above, center, with volcano)
The hook of this game is the ability to use modern weapons in classic settings, but only when the time is right. If you’re sniping Confederates with a Barret .50 Cal, you might draw some attention. In Pompeii, who cares? They all die anyways! Shotgun to your hearts content.
Another aspect of the game that seems cool is that within each era you’ll be fighting other time travelers, but you won’t know who they are because (like you) they were sent back dressed and acting according to the time period. After engaging in battle enough, you’ll figure out who belongs where (or should I say when?).
The let down of this game so far? It looks like it may be primarily a PC game, but IGN says it will be 360-available as well.
